Notes: Signed FWL for Frank Walter Lawrence, renowned jeweler of the late 20th century. The workmanship can be attributed to Gustav Manz who worked for multiple jewelry houses including Tiffany & Co, JC Caldwell, Raymond Yard, Star and Frost, etc. The Amethyst is carved intaglio of a Greek Woman playing a harp. The reverse of the stone is faceted. Some of his pieces are found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The artist was widely influenced by his travels to the Holy Land for archeological excavations.
